I take it that the CDs are switched up from time to time because I don't see the Fame album available to listen to.

That's alright, for me though, because I bought the CD the other day but just wondering in case others may have wanted to hear it.

How is the cd? I went to purchase it at HMV in Ottawa on the weekend, and was very surprised to see that they didn't have it. I haven't gone searching elsewere...yet. I wasn't sure if I should wait til after I see the movie. I don't think it's being as publisized in Canada as the States or UK...remember the States had a FAME preview with Harry Potter...Canada didn't.

Not bad. I rather like the remix of Fame. Some songs are better than others but I think once I've seen the movie, the songs will make more sense. LOL

If anyone wants to listen to the CD, I've created a player with the songs. All I ask is that the link not be spread around as I don't have it linked on the website and it's up just so that you guys can have a listen and comment.

I like it a lot,but it sounds more like "Step Up" than "OUR" Fame.

Now I'm worried about the lack of advertising in Canada...my local Walmart didn't carry the new Fame soundtrack!! The man in that department didn't even know their was a new movie coming out. Actually it was funny, because he asked me why they were making a remake of that movie. I just hope we (Canada) get the dvds released here next week!!

Debi - Yeah, I can see that but I think it's because it's an updated version.

Sue - That's odd. I was under the impression that it was being released like everywhere.

Last night I was seeing quite a few Fame commercials with new scenes not shown in the trailers and such. I wished I would have been taping something at the time so that I would have been able to save the commercials. LOL

That doesn't surprise me, Sue. The people working in Walmart (here anyway) know nothing about their department-I rarely see the same person twice in the same place. Most of the time, they float to different areas and never have the time to familiarize themselves with what they have. I'll even be surprised if our Walmarts get the DVD's. I don't even bother asking because I know the associate will look at me like I have two heads.
I know a lady who does the DVD merchandising. IF I happen to see her in the next few days, I will ask her if they'll get it. She will know.

OK, I'm biased of course, and I'm not into modern r'n'b - but I listened to some samples and the OST sounds awful to me :-X. And of course again, I especially hate what they did to the theme song. But the main problem, I think (trying to be fair LOL), is that the whole darn thing is way too "urban"/hip hop/whatever you call it (bar a couple of ballads or three of course). It's not just a flavour, you know - it's heavily all over there. Now, the soundtrack from the original movie was made of less songs, but they were more varied...just think of "I sing the body electric", that one alone was a whole soundtrack with 4 or 5 different moods!
I admit I would have probably hated the new movie and OST anyway but...they gave me so many more reasons for that LOL.
