Interesting link, Dany. I would even say I am happy to have more information about het, but yet I can't be anything but sad, as much as all this story is... It's an amazing letter, so touchful, but so sad. It must have been a nightmare for her. I'm so sorry it happened. I'm sure she was someone who deserved everything good. Nobody deserves to have such a bad person like that boyfriend was...It's sad that there are people like him on this world, and that tragedies like this one happen all the time. #frown# I got angry when I think if it wasn't that, that guy she could still be here #depressed# RIP Dominique Dunne
[shouldn't this be in the guest stars sub board, or whatever you call that?]
Edited from this point on: I just came back to the site to read some more and got even more shocked...because of this... "During his first interrogation, Sweeney showed no remorse for what he had done.(...) he said to one of the officers: “I fucked up... I can't believe I did something that will put me behind bars forever... Man, I blew it. I killed her. I didn't think I choked her that hard. I just kept on choking her. I just lost my temper and blew it again”. (...) they found out, that John Sweeney obviously choked Dominique for about five minutes, and the medical examiner confirmed that the duration of the strangulation was for at least three minutes, what makes it quite improbable that he didn't noticed what he was doing when he choked Dominique; he had enough time to regain control and let her live.(...) Dominique's friends and fellow actors stated, that she was far away from reconciliation. In the last five weeks of her life, she lived in permanent fear of her ex-boyfriend.(...) the jury found John Sweeney guilty merely of voluntary manslaughter.(...) John Sweeney only got 6 ½ years in prison...instead of 15 years or more for murder. John Sweeney only spent 2 ½ years in jail (3 years and 8 months including the time he spent in detention pending trial)"
#what# Doesn't this make you want to yell at those people?!

Boy that's scary - and notice that she was still talking (writing) reasonably...still sounding like she was in control, if you know what I mean...not pleading or what. Poor girl...and I SO agree with you Cat - so many girls have experienced that kind of nightmare, and when trying to break free from it they were murdered...

Another waste of life ,as this young actress had many years ahead of her.i had a friend that was murdered a few years ago at a young age too aged 26 .The people who take away other peoples lifes dont realize how much pain and suffereng they leave behind.

Yes really a horrible story. She was a great actress I loved her in Poltergeist.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed the hickies on her neck in the sceen at the end when she gets out of the car with her boyfriend. I wonder now if they were not bruises. It is still so sad what happened to her.

If you look closely on her neck when she gets out of the car and the house is going crazy and she keeps yelling something to the effect what is going on here. There is a close up and you can see them on her neck not sure which side I have only seen the movie once. It scaresd me so much I never wanted to see it again. I saw the movie on the big screen adn it was very noticable there.
